Pollution is a big problem in Guangzhou. This is partly due to the large amount of industrial plants populating the landscape. The White Cloud skysraper is designed as a mediator to this pollution. It acts as an air purification machine to clean the air and the environment for the inhabitants of the city. This is accomplished through a cloud-like membrane which filters the air and rain, and a series of branch-like tubes which collect rainwater.
The White Cloud Skyscraper was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Evolo 2011 skyscraper competition and is featured in the publication 'Evolo Skyscrapers' 2012.
